With the IT situation here back under control and orders flowing in smoothly again, it’s not a bad time to mention another old favourite – postal matters.
Tuesday remains my preferred post out day. But generally, I try to get your items into the post with 48 hours. Be aware that if you are in SA or WA your parcels come from the East by train unless you pay for Express Post.
After a couple of close calls in recent months with missing items, I’ve decided to send out all items with the added protection provided by “signature on delivery”.
I’ll absorb the additional cost. And if you don’t want to have to sign for your items, then let me know in advance and I won’t pay that extra dollar or two to Australia Post.
If you want extra insurance on any parcel please let me know. I’ll ask for a small extra contribution if I don’t feel inclined to cover the extra cost myself (as I often do with bigger orders).
Can I also mention that small orders are fine but they aren’t great value. The $15.95 flat rate charge for postage covers a single parcel of up to 4-5 kilos. That’s at least three or four 1/32 scale cars. I’ll only ask you to pay more if you are ordering a particularly heavy item or one that large and physically hard to pack.
