We are no longer maintaining a display or car track at the LFG store in Kambah Village. The shop will still continue operate as a “click and collect” point for online orders and for orders placed at CARRACE and Bailes Court race meets.
From 1 October, all orders must be processed through the WTW site.
We are now into our 5th year of trading and it’s time to face the harsh reality that there simply is not enough trade, particularly in the current economic climate, to support a financially viable traditional “bricks and mortar” slot car and model train store in the ACT. The costs of doing business are high. And numbers coming into both hobbies are vanishingly small.
Thanks to the local slot car community for their support over the years and also to the handful of model rail enthusiasts in the local N Gauge rail scene who became regulars.
As a consequence of the decision not to have a bricks and mortar store, a number of suppliers will no longer be selling directly to us. Their choice, not ours.
However, we’ll still be stocking a large range of new items and will also be boosting our ‘collectables’ offerings.
It’s been heartening to see a resurgence in numbers attending local Club meetings over the past year or so. And we will continue to offer Club Member discounts to CARRACE and the other clubs and groups operating in the Canberra region.
